I've had quite a journey in the last few years with my fitness. As some of you might have followed, I went from 185lbs, and almost 30% body fat, to 155lbs, and 12% body fat, after P90X. It wasn't my first time working out, so while difficult (and some movements I didn't master till later), it wasn't impossible.

People have asked me about the program quite a lot, and I don't hold back any secrets. I don't think it's for everyone to start at. In fact, I have suggested some people starting on Power 90, Tony Horton's first video series. It's not pricey at all, and if you're just breaking into working out after quite a few years, it's great.

Anyhow, this isn't a post about my love affair with Tony Horton, it's a post about my journey of fitness and where I'm going with it now.

Tough Mudder was my first real test to myself to see if I was getting too old to really do a lot with my body...well...it wasn't that bad at all. In fact, even went back for seconds :)

One of the routines I got into, which I had never done before, was yoga. Boy, did I not like how I felt during some of it! All those uncomfortable positions for extended times?! Yikes! But, I did it. And over time, I got better and better. To the point where, one move...Crane, became a reality.

This is Crane, kinda crazy, huh?

After moving into P90X2, I found myself wanting a bit more in this overall body strength thing. Yoga was doing some of it, but I knew there had to be more. Well, I came across a man by the name of Ido Portal one day while viewing videos on YouTube.

This is the awe I discovered:

And this is where I want to be when I'm 50. Able to do 30 pullups would be nice, but that's just fluff strength. I'd rather have complete body control.

Today, I started the most basic workout of his I could find. Even after all the things I've done already, it was some of the most difficult movements I've done.

More to come!
